in the rain, the pavement shines like silver

You know, I don't usually say this, but...I really, deeply loathe kiki McCarey.

I don't even know the man, but this in large part is why:

This is a small island sim in the Rio Salas chain, that one of my friends--and my landlord in Rivula--manages. He's got a five hour return on the parcel, which he just might be reconsidering. After I tell him about kiki's latest.

To the lower left of this image, you can see the smallest smallest speck of black. That is me. That is me after rezzing into the sandbox--yes, this is our sandbox, a, might I add, private sandbox in Rio--where we come to build!

As I'm in the process of seeing if I can build a home--the loves liked the design of Miss Callisto's brickface dwellings for Penzance, but didn't overly see it as "us"--I rezzed out from the sandbox and rezzed back in there, intending to pick up where I left off, in redesign. And ended up inside a construction that took up nearly every inch of space in Rio Salas!

Is this fair? Go find your own sandbox, kiki! Damn it!

In other news, let me introduce you briefly to Clockwerk:

This, to date, is just an unscripted toy. He's adorable. He's just small and charming and very nearly huggable, despite being made of rivets and wires.

He's intended to be the mascot for Fawkes Allen Designs, in Penzance, but...Mr. Allen is somewhat less sure that people would purchase essentially a toy, which is also thirty-eight prims.

I'm trying to find a way to convince him that truly, it's not such a large expenditure, but he's got some very grand--and higher prim--ideas, and he's suddenly thinking 234 prims for the Penzance store? May not be enough.

*rolls her eyes*

It's a start, we can expand later, if it succeeds. Somewhere else. But starting small? Never a bad idea. Who knows? He may eventually end up with his own sim...

Went to the first of--I hope many!--Miss Kiralette's Happy Dances yesterday. Tacitly a celebration of celebrating, truly, we also decided it was:

* in honor of Guy Fawkes Day;
* a second celebration of her rez day, since so many of us could not attend her actual rez day gathering;
* a dance in honor of surviving the crash and burn of 1200 sims;
* a celebration for everyone's UnBirthday; and
* a Happy Monday dance.

I'm all for having more of these. It was quite fun.

And there were fireworks!

Mostly to my right in these images is someone amusingly named Platonic Republic. Also swirling through the images is Miss Autopilotpatty Poppy (she of that amazing fall of red hair), Mr. Fawkes Allen (the red half-spectacles), Miss Neome Graves (the burnished kitten in black), and I do believe Mr. Roy Smashcan (look for the boots). I couldn't tell you who else you might see in the images, though I think Lady Darkling might have been captured.

MOSTLY I was trying for images of the fireworks! Which were quite grand and impressive.

Then the Daleks arrived. Aheh.

So...yesterday? Mostly very lovely. Made good inroads in removing this morning's serious dissatisfaction with the French, namely kiki. Grr hiss.

(Late edit: This? Is just wrong.)

omg! That mascot is so cute. Please give Fawkes my compliments on it and also my encouragement to put it out for sale. I totally agree on the huggable part!

I shall do so.

He's redesigned it somewhat--it now lacks ten more prims, and has some animation. It's getting cuter. :)

Awwww.

Reduced prim count is always nice. Animations? Depends upon how much of a lag monster one is. ^.^

But the Linden bears aren't generally animated or anything and I do collect them -- not that I've seen any Lindens around recently x.x

Program it to say Mamma and I'm adopting it. :)

Seraph: I'm having sudden thoughts about steam-age cuddle toys...This may be interesting.

Qlippothic: I'll tell him. :)

You found a Zeusaphone! (Or a Thoremin, depending on your inclinations).

I wonder if Herr Kulkukan could build those for here....

Thoremin?

Ja, Thor-emin. After the theremin, but as clever a name as it is, the theremin is not well known enough for most people to catch the reference.

Hey *I'd* buy the little clockwerk (assuming the asking price isn't L$500 or something). But then people buy silly things in SL. Or pick them up a freebies and add them to their inventory...

hide away, they say, 'cos we don't want your broken parts

Yeah, so...remember that thing I was recovering from? You know, last year ? Yeah. I did it again. So this is Em Faw Down Go Boom part ...
