M-I-C--See you real soon!

Mouseworld is gone.

A direct port to the former center of Disney tribute on the grid now lands you in the middle of the ocean next to Tikvah, the "Jewish Island".

Second Life,virtual worlds,religion,Jewish,Ark,Tikvah

To either side of the virtual Ark of the Covenant (and one can only hope they built it in place, rather than moving it) is a notecard dispenser for more information on the appearance of the Ark. [Note from the Editrix: Per creator request, detailed below, I've removed the text of the notecard. Granted, I don't entirely understand why, but I was asked, so it's gone. You'll just have to go to Tikvah and read the notecard for yourselves.]

Why did Honda Enoch give up? Why was the sim sold? I don't know yet. Hopefully, I'll be able to find out.

[Update: Back in Aprille of this year, SLU covered the cease-and-desist letter (supposedly) received by Enoch. At that time his in-world group confirmed this, and that a closing party would be held. I wasn't a member of the in-world group, so it could have happened, but...the entire thing is still odd. Because Disney usually doesn't send out C&D letters; in fact, as the Doombuggies site proves, Disney does--and has, in the past--authorized extremely detailed fan tributes.

[What's even stranger, is I'm fairly sure I visited Mouseworld after Aprille, so I'm more than a bit confused. That, and the news seemed to hit with a splash today, and not six months ago...]

"Y? Because we no longer like you!"

Who knows, maybe somebody slipped him a Mickey?

Aheh.

In all seriousness, Disney allows tribute sites--which, truthfully, is what Mouseworld and other Disney-centric places on the grid fall into--but I really put Mouseworld head and shoulders above the rest. Not only were they offering Disney tribute (in, as said, allowable fashion) but they were doing their best to preserve a specific time and place as well--namely, Disneyland in Anaheim, between 1965 and 1985.

Why would someone who was that devoted to Disney history--far more so than anyone else on the grid--suddenly give up? That's the real question.

Obvious first choice of speculations is economic. Second choice (for which there's precedent -- see LBD Lindsay, for instance): he got tired of the Lab's mickeymouse crap.

As to why he pulled the plug unannounced? Why bother to leave drama in your wake, when you won't be there to witness it, and it won't do any good anyway?

(On the other white-gloved hand... I won't be surprised if Mouseworld shows up in InWorldz.)

Honestly, if he shows up on InWorldz? I will lose all respect for the man.

Which is only tenuously extended because of Kheph777, his partner in creation for Mouseworld.

If you want to know what happened to Honda ask Jerome and Dyanna and Lola Bella, as they seem to be the ones to ask. They are a bunch of backstabbers in my opinion. I do not appreciate you copying and posting my research to the internet though. It is still my intellectual property and you should have asked permission.

Ari,

It's been removed, but truly, if you had a problem, bringing this up, oh, before 2010 ended might have been better?

How'ver, though, I'll see what I can track down. It hasn't been a priority (well, it still isn't a priority) before now.

hide away, they say, 'cos we don't want your broken parts

Yeah, so...remember that thing I was recovering from? You know, last year ? Yeah. I did it again. So this is Em Faw Down Go Boom part ...
