Let's have some oddity!



I went to Forever Winter, with the closest I could get to chibi in SL (without actually going Dinkie). What I got turned out to be a not-quite classic shortstack (link included for those what don't know the term, and it's...reasonably...SFW), but I'm still fairly pleased with her. The only place I had trouble was the eyes, so the eyes I ended up going with were a no-copy mesh pair from Ruin, and that's going in the saved-outfit folder, I guess.

Sorry, Ruina.



But lookit! These are the large size of the Perchten horns from /Vae Victis\! Without resizing!!



But yes, she am short. And on non-moderate sims, why yes, this avatar will get me in trouble (because she's even shorter than my usual level of smol).



Oh, I like this bench. Comes with its own blankie. And there the horns are in gothic tones of deep red and coal-black.



Really great aged gold texture on them, too.



And the hud for that final note of closure.

I know I say this a lot about Vae Victis horns, but I really do mean it--I love these. I love their colors, I love that I can go deep haunted darkness up to fluffy pastels, dependent on mood. And I am tickled beyond reason that this avatar can wear the large horns straight out of the box.



You can pick up a copy of Madpea's Advent calendar still (I guess, me for size reference?); it runs L$500 at the /Vae Victis\ store--or any store of the other designers of nifty products in the calendar. And it will function quite nicely as a holiday art piece, so that price tag covers not only the gifts inside, but the gift of the little house. Very neatly done all around.

Fallen Gods is celebrating their 14th anniversary party today!

I know, I know, I've pitifully neglected the blog...everything sort of exploded on two fronts and I didn't deal well. And because I want this out more than I want everything to be framed, we're just going with raw shots, but I figure those who know why will understand.



So this is all taking place at the twelve-hour 14th anniversary of Fallen Gods, in Selidor. It started at eleven, and it's going strong, and likely will until it ends.



That's the way these things go.



This is a shot of the underside of the dance floor. It's literally just sitting on top of the Anniversary market.



Sweet little Clover abandoning her normal Tiny form for an actual Fallen Gods Petite, with Fallen Gods skin. So cool.



Alia felt Daveosaurus was cheating on 'must wear a Fallen Gods skin' for the first contest...



But my gods, this whole set up was so well-done. It was hysterical.



And then I had to leave, sadly. But this party is going to rage on all day, so if you want to come, come on down! Dress your best, dress your weirdest, come to party, and embrace fourteen years of Alia creating on the grid!

Today's a little different, because...these have to be shown off a little. Just because the connections are so WEIRD.



This is the "Aquamarine" skin, currently available in Fallen Gods' booth at this round of We Roleplay. I bought it on a whim, but as it turns out, it's incredibly relevant for a really silly reason.

What reason? Well, because this:

Well, because it was the closest in color tone to my off-and-on permanent avatar through most social media (f'rinstance, it's not my current Twitter avatar, but it has been in the past, and also it's been my Tumblr avatar, and it's currently my icon on Discord):

A better look at the skin tone. It really is just that super-saturated.

And I have no idea if the makeup's still available--it was purchased six years ago at an event, but you can visit Senzafine and check. It's the "PVB 06" from the "Rhapsody" lip fatpack. [I still have a system head, so system-layer makeup still works for me.])

Something from the last night of Fantasy Faire...

[22:12] Pookie Wolfsong (helixer): For years I have come to the faire danced on the Fairechylde. Visited each world sim and met wonderful people. To the Pawlice I have a special place in my heart for them. My fellow Waffle loving beings.
The Fairelands mean so much to me. Not just for the party, shopping or hunts. The cause is what called to me. Being to my first faire I found something more a place of caring. A place to renew ones soul. For the message that you are not alone means so much to those who battle cancer. As well as those who care for and support the fighters. For the last thirty plus years I have caregivien those who battle. I shared the fairelands to any who wanted to see the magical lands you created. The effect is amazing the renew of hope in people's eyes is a magic that can not be described..
Thank you Fairelands. You do so much more than you know. This last year has been hard for all of us. We have come together. My dear fairelanders thank you for not losing the dream

(Poem original. Skin is Hel, from Alia Baroque's Jail 'n Bail event at Fantasy Faire this year. The hair comes from Raven Bell, "Sakura"; I picked it up at the Neo-Japan event, but it's likely in the main store by now. The eyes are from the "Witness" set in silver from Axix. The dress is "Aura" from Psycho Barbie. The riding whale is from HPMD--yes, I finally splurged, and the riding whale is mine. And the sims seen are Candlewood for the first two images, and Krakenstorm for the last two--though be aware, if you go, there is a very trigger-happy steamship in the storm overhead, and it shoots to kill.

(I'm...happy. These days. And for those that know me, they know that's not something I say lightly. And it's still new, and tentative, and I'm not used to it, and I'm still waiting for the pianos to fall from the clear sky, but...for now. For here. I'm...actually happy.)

DJ Verdant, he of the incomparably fun Wandering Star, sent out a notice that he'd be playing a set for the spring equinox. And fae were requested! Fauns specifically, but fae of any order, or whomever wanted to come--just come and dance.



So we turned out in a minor drove.



We all picked out spaces around the fire, and the dancing began.



DJ Verdant Homewood himself, spinning for the revelers.



So, I could have just included the pic after this, because right when I snapped this, the lass on the left whose wings I REALLY wanted to catch turned to the side...but it's still a fun pic, I'm going with it.



And those are her wings full on, with the eye spots.

What is wrong with people? Don't get me wrong, that's a pretty template. I own a version, and I have been thinking about picking up the full-perm version to play with textures. But. I own it precisely because it's a very adult set of harem pants that I can still technically wear on G sims.

I am an adult. I can do that. Put that on a child, though? We're back to pedophilia on parade, and can SL designers please STOP doing that?!

Today I learned that not only was there a satirical publication called Der Götz von Berlichingen, named after a historical badass, but a bit more about said historical badass.

This is OUT OF THE BOX. Granted, out of the box for the second time, but I did nothing with it but wear it and wear the shape it came with. That's all.



Even worse? THIS is the head I bought--with HELP, I might add!--because I thought it might be close to how I look now. Argh!

And this? This is what I got when I took off the mesh head. Which is big and square but still, recognizeably human!

WTF did I do to that head the last time I unpacked it? Because it needs to be FIXED, STAT!!!

It's not often these days that I am completely blown away by someone's creativity in world. This individual? Astounded me.



This is Eupalinos Ugajin. And this was not a still life. She floated in midair, spun, over the illusionary room below her.



She shone like chrome, all of her. The bubbles moving gently with her shone like chrome. The avatar alone was fascinating, even without the rest of it.



I'd gone to Contraption to find their offering for the latest Steam hunt. It's unisex, so I'm not sure how well the lines are going to work with my bosom? But I still wanted to find it.



And I couldn't stop spinning my camera around her. I had literally never seen anyone who was their own art installation wherever they went, basically.



On her profile is a link to a video of her latest work, which is apparently part of a cooperative multi-artist installation, many minds coming together to articulate their current view of the world. It has its political aspects--right now, how could it not?--but what I noticed most was the antigravity experiment I'm showing here? Seems to be part of her approach to art. Antigravity, floating things, machine-assisted removal of natural laws--it's a recurring theme.



Anyway. I was so completely astounded I didn't IM her or anything. I just stood there, struck dumb by the brilliance. But--if you have the time, do check out the art. The page with her video on it has the SLUrl on how to get to the exhibit. I'm fascinated, and I may have to explore further myself.

But either way--yes, anything is still possible. Any concept can be articulated creatively. We can be our own living art. Fantastic.

part time dreamer, would-be player

Look! Finally I have my Arctic fox back.



Yes, I know, it takes me a long time to decide. But I wanted to be sure, and I demo'ed a lot of options, and sure, while it would have taken much less time, effort and demo testing to simply buy an all-in-one like AVP's white fox, we're back to that whole "feeling like me" thing.

Keep in mind, this was my first fox:



And do take note of the vintage, nothing looks like that, I know. That head was all prims and pieces and one wrong move could take the entire thing down to components. I know that. But...back in 2007? That was me about a third of the time.



Now I have this. It's Whisk's Gelato mod for Maitreya, using Cerberus' Canis Bento head. I can't remember what store sells the neck extender, but fluffylittlellama made it. And Whisk made the eyes, their Calm Eyes in the Variety pack.



I'm going to take the additional hit today and pick up Apricot Paws' Feety Peets for female canines, because as much as I adore having shoes, she's telling me she wants paws. Who am I to argue?

And I definitely have to find a better outfit. This one's cute, but it was also an extremely lucky pull of Alchemy's 'The Wilds' outfit in Celestial, and...that's the only color it comes in? And I'd prefer a longer skirt. So...more shopping.

And I haven't decided if she needs whiskers yet. My brain is saying yes, but the people who made the Canis head don't have whiskers for sale, so...maybe not? I don't know. I'll think about it.

But either way, I have her back. One more piece of the past me that I want to retain in the new world. It's a good thing, I think.
