DRD had already decided last years gachas would be its very last one. my personal opinion is that gachas has run its course. Technically true, but...some stores have thrown up their gacha items as free fatpacks, everything for nothing; some have done the same, but only for group members; some have declared after the end of the month, NONE of their gacha items will exist. Some, like this particular maker, are tearing their hair out, because their gachas featured dozens of individual items, all of which now have to be repackaged and set out.

To be fair, this has happened to me, too. Not with DRD, but I've bought avatars off the MP and opened the voucher card, only to be told it's already been used.

There are types of gambling. For example, some forms of underground martial arts are illegal in many places. Cock fights and dog fights are illegal in a lot of places. And sure, a lootbox isn't in the same category as someone spending a thousand to try and get a winning lottery ticket.

The difference: children. Any time children are involved, people get up in arms. So in this case, if the under-eighteen set was at risk for stealing Mommy's credit card and charging five thousand of in-game items to it (which happened), the parents stand up and say this is predatory, and it needs to STOP.
