across the open prairie and the drifting snow, cold as the cold wind blows

Someone always has to beg...

[10:18] gxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: can someone help me with 30L
First: no. Second: no. Third: go away.
[10:18] Emilly Orr: Yes. Open in-world search. Type in 'Employment'.
[10:20] Lxxx Cxxxxxxx: You can get 30L by adding 10L to 20L or 15L to 15L. I hope that was illuminating.
[10:20] Emilly Orr: That also works.
[10:20] dxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: that was harsh side-eye-emoji
[10:20] Emilly Orr: But deserved.
[10:20] hxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxx: I gave her 30L
Well, that was dumb.
[10"21] Emilly Orr: Never encourage the beggars.
[10:21] mxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: more fool you [rxxxxx], i bet they have asked at least another 30 people
If not far more.
[10:22] sxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: sorry i don't have water right now
I hear you. Kind of in that state myself.
[10:22] sxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: i seen a lot of those in the past week
They're a perpetual hazard.
[10:22] hxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxx: Well... if so there richer then me but 30L to help someone buy somthing at least she can get something
See, I get that you're naive, alarmingly so for SL in the age of Linden spammers, but even with that supposedly genuine desire to help, you're not being smart. If you *really* wanted to help her out, then IM her, ask what she needs. Buy that on MP and send it to her. That way, you're not giving a direct Linden gift, and if you find out her motivations. Because if she says 'Oh, no, I really don't need that dress/pixel baby food/car I told you I needed, I just want the 30L"...then you know you're being scammed. End of conversation.

This one didn't even bother to coach it in an "I need a thing" format. She just baldly asked for 30L. No reason given. Most definitely a spammer.
[10:22] Ixxxxx Bxxxxxx: No one needs to ask for 30l, Governor Linden will give it to you for playing games, feeding someone begging alt doesn't help anyone
[10:23] mxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: a week old avatar begging for money .. nah dont think so
Yeah, I'm very dubious as well.
[10:23] Emilly Orr: Nah, it's a spammer.
[10:23] sxxxxx Hxxxxxxxxx: its a bot
[10:23] gxxxxxx Rxxxxxxxx: And with lots of groups where to beg
[10:23] mxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: of course it is
[10:23] xxxxx Hxxxxxxxxx: true
[10:23] Ixxxxx Bxxxxxx: and sadly, in 2019, someone still fell for it and gave them 30cents
No one ever said people weren't allowed to be dumb on the internet.
[10:23] Ixxxxx Bxxxxxx: this is why it keeps happening
Yep.
[10:23] Kxxxxx Mxxxxxxx: if i wanted to borrow money it would be from a friend...not spam a group for it
[10:24] kxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: a bad troll attempt. Have to come up with something better then that line.
[10:25] Dxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: @ [Rxxxxx]: Well i am sure you have a kinded heart and you did it because you are nice and want everyone around you to be happy. but i am afraid too, it was just a money caller to get some other alts richer.. anyway.. thank you for your nice giving
Nope. She doesn't get credit for being nice here. She fell for it. She's not helping anyone but whatever group of bots and hacked accounts in China or Ukraine is running this week, trying various angles to get Lindens.

Maybe this is why Tilia's here. To cut down on Linden spammers, due to the inflexible rules of having to give RL info and/or banking info if an avatar is pulling funds from Second Life.

And note: I'm not saying no one should help anyone, ever. I'm really not. Someone genuinely needs our help, and we can give that help, we should. It's a big world, but we learn more from it with open hearts and extended hands. But. If it acts like a spammer, reads like a spammer, and begs like a spammer? It's a spammer. Ignore them and move on.
[10:29] Mxxxxxxxxx Nxxx: I think it's the rare one isn't it?
I mean, you'd think people would know by now not to give in. It's not a real person, Ms. R, it's a bot or a spammer in some dingy cubicle farm hitting thousands of groups at a time. Don't encourage them.

Later...
[14:54] Mxxxxxxx Txxxxxxx: Anyone willing to help find a [sh*t]? I contacted the owner of the hair but it might (if ever) take them a while to respond.
[14:55] Pxxxx Hxxxxxxxxxxx: a what?
[14:55] Fxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: find what?
[14:57] Emilly Orr: Beg pardon?
[14:58] Mxxxxxxx Txxxxxxx: a shirt
[14:59] Exxxxxxxx Rxxxxxxx: Whew... I was worried there for a minute...
Me too.
