Okay, so this particular entry is light on content, but it's to prepare you for the next several entries, wherein I finally break down all the pictures I've taken in CaleCraft and try to make them make sense, several days after the taking. But I'll try to lay them out in somewhat chronological order. We'll see how it goes.
In the meantime, enjoy Fantasy Faire, and remember--even if you do no more than toss ten Lindens in a kiosk, enjoy the wandering through the sims. The sponsors have gone all out this year, it's beyond impressive, and yes, I do believe for much of it, a mesh viewer will be required. Enjoy.

Her hair was from Truth, her outfit was from Deviance, and her eyes were sized up from Yabusaka's petite avatar eyes. The avatar itself? Well, several people have seen this and decided to write her, so we'll see what they say.
Hows does an avatar that big "work?" Was she moving normally or just flipping between poses? Very impressive, true!

In the Tides sim, she wasn't moving from her position next to the beam-in hub. She was moving through animation sets, but as far as I know, she doesn't wander around.
There's apparently been a large...no pun intended...amount of interest in this lady and her avatar. While she's informed a friend that making a functional avatar this size is problematic beyond all reason, she is planning on working out a slightly smaller mesh version and setting it for sale in her store. So look for it there.
Ah. I was wondering how it might have been possible until you mentioned "mesh". Some years back I bought a "giant AV" kit which used vehicle physics and a very large primmed AV. Might not have been quite as tall as Miss Quixote but it was close to 30 metres tall. I'd certainly be interested in a mesh form. You could prim it over with some good robot pieces and wreak havoc on the steamlands :-)
Indeed you could--and I think that's why it's so fascinating. In large part (...again, sorry, didn't mean that), it's just a big avatar. But considering before the advent of mesh, all larger-than-average avs were entirely prim work--and, good or bad, looked it--this presents a whole new vista of exploration.
Even the Petites--at least, the ones directly descending from the Yabusaka originals--seem to have the same figure, the same face. We can visually dismiss them as trinkets, as animate toys. But her avatar, I reacted to as another person, which is fascinating, considering she never spoke and never moved from her stance beside the Tides hub.
