we were an island, you were the one who broke away
Now let's look at the Frozen set, from the Cassiopeia eyes. (All of these you can get from Rue's main store in Netherfield.)
I know we're accustomed to hear "radiation" and think "glowing green", but Cerenkov radiation, it turns out, is exactly this shade of blue. This is "Curie", named after Marie Curie, and aptly so, I think.
Next up, "Fluorite", which again is a direct reference to fluorite crystals, or at least fluorite in general. Fluorite as a mineral has an extreme variegation, everything from garnet-like reds to pinks, greys, violets, and greens. These eyes perfectly reflect the shifting tones, using green, powder green, pale yellow, and drifting shades of lavender to recreate the hues.
"Frostbite", on the other hand, is that clear, clean blue of arctic ice, frozen for millenia.
"Glacier", while still in the arctic spectrum, is more washed in seawater, with shades of blue and aqua, cyan and white.
"Ice" is a muted melding of both "Glacier" and "Frostbite", similar tones seen through a clear frozen pane.
Finally, "Seafoam" rounds this set out, bringing purer greens into the mix, but still touched by ice and still, cold water.
More to come!
(Horns in this series from Rue, part of the Eclectic Desires L$10 skull hunt and maze; hair is Ploom's "Harlowe" [I'm wearing it in Poppy, but it's from 2010, so no idea if it's still around]. Skin's still from MoMo [also may not be available]; lip tattoos are from Pin Me Down [acquired during World Goth Month], and the forehead jewels are from the Arachnos skin set at Fallen Gods [it comes with spider back-arms and the Arachnos skin as well; it's for the next day or so only on the Lucky Fortune machine].)
