like an old abandoned house, pt. II
More pictures of the black train's ride...
This is coming down the other side of Witch's Hill, having survived giant spiders, tentacles and ghost attacks!
Unfortunately, I didn't entirely survive the final web before the last hill's turn--the train stuttered to a halt and spiders just covered the train, and me!
You took a hammer to these walls,
Dragged the memories down the hall,
Packed your bags and walked away.
There was nothing I could say.
(Note presence of following spiders, swarming the train. They like me.)
Did you know there's a troll in Octoberville? There's a troll in Octoberville.
This is his house.
And when you slammed the front door shut,
A lot of others opened up,
So did my eyes so I could see
That you never were the best for me.
Behind the haunted house is a tunnel the train travels through. It's very disorienting--not only because of the spinning checkerboard pattern, but about halfway through, I was really ready to come out the other side...and stayed in far longer than I thought there was tunnel!
Spooky, indeed...
Past the graveyard the train descends into some of the old mine tunnels. They're just packed with odd glowing crystals, sending off coruscating light. It would be fascinating if it didn't lead to squeaking bats and fire. (If you ride the train, you'll find out what I mean.)
(Another shot from the mine tunnels.)
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
The best shot I got of Octoberville's one and only nightclub, the Crowbar--but it's worth a visit, truly--it's a nice layout, they have cute dancers, and their main DJ, Master Kaos, spins a mean tune.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know.
(Coming close to the Pixeltrix building again, and nearly ran down Mr. Fawkes Allen, who was--for some reason--standing on the tracks.)
I'm slowly getting closure.
I guess it's really over.
I'm finally getting better.
(The effort to avert av disaster threw me from the rails, whereupon I waited, slowly spinning on the engine, until the passenger car saw another opportunity to escape. Whereupon the auto-homing signal went out again, and moments from chugging into the station under engine power, I was flung in the air above the Pixeltrix building, and sent back to the depot.)
And now I'm picking up the pieces.
I'm spending all of these years
Putting my heart back together.
'Cause the day I thought I'd never get through,
I got over you.
I mentioned the passenger car being evil?
I wasn't kidding. Fawkes and I decided to take the train again, I riding behind on the evil little pumpkin car, and barely away from the station, it flipped completely, dragged me through the soil, and then detached off into the field. The train obligingly registered the loss, bringing Fawkes back to the depot...and a few minutes later, the recall nabbed the passenger car, pulling it away from the campfire it was heading for with demonic relish.
Well, I never saw it coming.
I should've started running
A long, long time ago.
And I never thought I'd doubt you,
I'm better off without you
More than you, more than you know....
I was glad for the recall, truly. I didn't fancy burning more than once, that night....
The Octoberville Express. Catch it if you can. But be patient--the train is not only not running on time, sometimes it's not found even close to the tracks!
