breast cancer and chemotherapy took away her crowning glory

{Insert from the Editrix: [adversity]'s real name has been changed to appease the hapless beggar quoted below. Therefore.}

[11:01 AM] [adversity]: Hi can I have 100L, because theres a new hair I have to have and I only have 200L and its 300L :( Pwease ^.^
[11:02 AM] Emilly Orr: You're kidding, right? You are too old an avatar to beg.
[11:02 AM] [adversity]: its just I get money next week, ill pay it back
[11:03 AM] Emilly Orr: But of course you will. No.

Double no for the "Pwease".

There are currently extradition proceedings against a student in Britain for copyright infringement in the US. If that doesn't make sense to you, well, it doesn't make much sense to Britain, either.

Apparently "ICE" (the handy new anagram for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the people who go after pirated imported goods) has decided that, if any part of an international website is hosted, even just in terms of domain name registration, in the United States--then those people who run those sites can be prosecuted as if they committed crimes on American soil.

And Nathan Fillion, Twitter darling (well, he and Amanda Palmer duke it out for the title on a daily basis) has hidden something in Rome! There's no prize involved, specifically--all he asks is that if you find it, you take a picture of it. And, naturally, upload it to Twitter.

I am terribly amused by this.

Also, Valve will be releasing the Source SDK for modding delights everywhere. I can't decide whether this is a good idea, or a terrifyingly bad one.

So. On to the last of the Hair Fair demo pics.

(This is the only time in this run of the Hair Fair entries where I'm blogging a hair I don't like--without serious adjusting, it gives me far too much forehead space that is unanchored by hair. But the concept of the exploding pocketwatch was cool.)

And I think next year, I'm picking another color other than dead solid black for the picture backgrounds.

Overall impression: there's more here to love than in previous years. Several absences are noticed (chiefly among them: Kin and Curio Obscura), and there were a couple people I didn't cover because I don't like the makers themselves (that would be Taketomi and Magika).

If you didn't see hair in these entries from a maker you liked, there's several reasons that might be that aren't mentioned above:

1. They didn't send out demos.
2. They sent out a demo box that only had hair pictures, not actual hair.
3. They didn't look good on me, and this year, yes, I was being that specific. Otherwise I would have still been going through them by the end of Hair Fair (which happened last year!).

And if you still want to know where those folks are located at the fair, there's a post on the official blog that has all the SLUrls in one place.

Or, if you'd prefer other bloggers, how about FabFree's coverage?
