In other news, the Enigma closed tonight, and it was almost a physical blow picking up all the dances, all the things that belonged to me, to take them away to use elsewhere. Towards the end of the evening it felt very much like that moment at the end of Best Little Whorehouse in Texas, where all the ladies are leaving, and they're all making their goodbyes, while "Hard Candy Christmas" is playing in the background...
All the dancers were hugging each other as they left. Some kissed and just vanished from the stage. Others hugged everyone, said they loved the crowd, and ran off.
One hugged everyone within reach, and then walked out, head held high, saying she couldn't bear to look back.
I promised to stay until the end. We started a little early--around 6:30 pm PST--and everything wrapped up when it was just me and the current neko boy who's keeping me sane, at 12:38 am.
And then I flipped the OPEN sign on the door to CLOSED, took back my dances, and went home shuddering.
Overall? Though there were moments of glory, and much love seen, and much commiseration...it was not one of my best evenings ever.
And that's been my week. I've had enough. No more please.

возникли неспроста.
Есть 2 версии этих событий - "официальная" и "неофициальная", и обе версии скорее уводят в сторону от реальных фактов.
[b]Версия 1:[/b] Каддафи - тиран и самодержец, стрелял в мирных граждан, поэтому его надо бы убрать.
[b]Версия 2:[/b] на самом деле Европе с Америкой захотелось немного Ливийской нефти, и они решили навести небольшой "дебош"
Рассмотрим версию 1.
Да, Каддафи уже тот ещё старик, ему конечно пора бы и на пенсию. Но известно ли вам, что конкретно в Ливии
народ имеет весьма высокие преференции при его правлении? Учителя получают под $3.000, выплаты безработным
порядка $1000 и так далее. Да, он стал укрощать группки взбунтовавшихся бедуинов, но кто-нибудь понимает
реальные причины этих бунтов?
Эта версия не выдерживает никакой критики.
Версия 2.
Нефть Ливии? Да, она отличается высоким качеством, Ливийская нефть очень чистая. Но её там не так много.
Да и к тому же, зачем тогда будоражить Египет и прочие африканские государства, которые весь прошлый
год вообще никого не тревожили и не волновали?! А тут вдруг - "тираны", "изверги" и т.п.
Да, эта ситуация дополнительно подогрела цены на нефть. Отдельным корпорациям это выгодно.
Но истина короче.
Каддафи не так давно начал объединять ближневосточные страны под идеей перейти на расчёт
за нефть и товары НЕ долларами, НЕ евро, а альтернативой всему этому. И Египет - одна из стран,
которая это поддержала...

P.S. У Саддама Хусейна, кстати, тоже были такие начинания. Вообще, после кризиса ооочень многие
страны стали задумываться об ИЗБАВЛЕНИИ ОТ ЗАВИСИМОСТИ ОТ ДОЛЛАРА. Рано или поздно
это произойдёт. ФРС уже некуда понижать ставки.

For anyone wandering the archives, here's the basic gist of what was sent:
If you are interested in a little politics, you must have noticed - this unexpected unrest in Africa has an ulterior motive.
There are two versions of these events--the 'official' and 'unofficial'--and both versions are probably far removed from the truth.
Version one: Gaddafi: a tyrant and autocrat, has attempted assassination of civilians, so he needs to be brought down.
Version two: Europe and America: they wanted a little Libyan oil, so they staged a small "riot".
Consider the first version.
Yes, Qaddafi is an old man, of course he could decide it's time to retiree. But did you know that in Libya, people prefer his rule? Teachers receive $3000 bonuses, the unemployed receive a general 'wage' of about $1000, and so on. Yes, he 'tamed' a small group of rebellious Bedouins, but surely someone understands the real causes of these riots? This version does not hold water.
Consider the second version.
Oil in Libya? Yes, it's of high quality. Libyan oil is very clean. But there's not a lot of it. And besides, what [did Qaddafi do] that would haunt Egypt and other African nations, when the whole of last year no one was disturbed or worried? But suddenly the calls of "tyrant", "monster", et cetera.
And yes, this situation further drives up the cost of oil. Individual corporations are making a killing.
But the truth is shorter. Gaddafi, not so long ago, began to combine Middle Eastern countries into an oil conglomerate, where the currency of choice is not dollars or Euros, but alternatives to either. And Egypt, one of the countries which is supported...

P.S. Generally, after the crisis, so many in that country began to think on getting rid of reliance on the United States. Sooner or later it will happen, the federal government will have no room to lower anything.
Spread it where you can. People need to know the truth.
Btw, also on this topic: in the military operation in western Libya, the NATO military operation in western Libya, the US and the UK have taken part. Russia has refused to participate in military operations in Libya.
