the shining pride of America is a nation up for war

This is Henri Beauchamp's version of the User Agreement; rather than pop up on install, it popped up upon first running the program.

Cool VL Viewer

1.- Origin and support:

The Cool VL Viewer is an Open Source (GPL v2), third party viewer for Second Life® and OpenSim grids. It is maintained by Henri Beauchamp (Second Life avatar name), maker of the Cool Products in Second Life.

This software is not provided or supported by Linden Lab®, the makers of Second Life®.

Support for this viewer is provided exclusively through the Cool VL Viewer forum (http://sldev.free.fr/forum/).

2.- Updates and upgrades:

Please note that there is no auto-update feature neither any latest version checking mechanism for this viewer: it is your responsibility to check regularly for new versions from the Cool VL Viewer website (http://sldev.free.fr/) or its forum (http://sldev.free.fr/forum/).

3.- Privacy policy:

No data whatsoever is collected or sent to the author of this viewer. Data is however stored on your hard disk and exchanged with the servers of the grid(s) you connect to, in the exact same way as an official Second Life viewer would do.

4.- Linden Lab's Third-Party Viewer policy compliance:

As the maintainer of this viewer, I, Henri Beauchamp (and in fact the real person behind this avatar), declare in good faith that to the best of my knowledge and understanding, and baring any unknown and yet to discover bug, this viewer is compliant with the Third-Party Viewers policy as published by Linden Lab (http://secondlife.com/corporate/tpv.php) at the time this particular viewer build was released (see above about your responsibility regarding update checks).

5.- Liability:

As a user of this viewer, you must also comply with Linden Lab's Third-Party Viewer policy when you connect with this viewer to the Second Life grid, and I will take no responsibility whatsoever for any bugs or shortcomings that you would abuse or exploit in any way to violate the TOS of any grid you connect to, or to violate the TPV policy of Second Life.

Finally, to make things crystal clear, let's quote the GPL v2.0 (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/old-licenses/gpl-2.0.txt) under which this viewer is licensed:

Considerably shorter, but I do believe all the t's are crossed and the i's dotted.
