no one said it would be easy
Xe Oh says here:
MISC-1231 remains: Unassigned. That should tell everyone how seriously this is being taken.
Indeed. Nice to know the Labs care so deeply.
And I'd point you all towards Lord Bardhaven's succinct analysis of the (resolving??) situation.
In related news, one day late the Lindens respond to the allegations against SL5B. With a perky, clear-as-creek-water, completely meaningless post.
I'd work up a right frothing ire over that, but...you know, I just don't have it in me. Because it's not the first time we have had a Linden step forth, surrounded by a storm of controversy, and say...nothing.
In this setting, the Lindens are rather clearly playing a familiar part. It reminds me of a bit from Macbeth, actually:
Save in this instance, we don't get fury. We get Torley. And we don't even get Torley, we get Katt Linden and Everett Linden doing Torley impersonations.
Less chipper "oh this is all a big misunderstaaaanding" posts, and more actual honesty would help, guys. But no, yet again, LL is choosing to answer by not answering, 'clear everything up' by making things as vague as possible, never outlining their reasons for whatever change it happens to be while making the new not-defined-previously definition sets even harder to understand...
Yeah. Anyone can submit builds. Absolutely anyone. As long as they're PG-appropriate, suitable for all audiences, and don't involve anything adult. We get it, already.
Which should mean the entire set of sims will be SL-kid friendly, right?
Right?
*hears crickets*
(As of 8:34 pm SLT, Gordon Wendt posted this issue as resolved. He states:
Resolution: Fixed
Feel free to reopen if they don't follow through on this but until there is evidence to the contrary I'm resolving this as it appears to be fixed.)
(This, of course, was followed at 9:05 pm SLT by one additional posting:
Maki Guyot reopened MISC-1231:
------------------------------
Reopening as there has not been an official Linden response on the JIRA as well as evidence of child-av builds being admitted into the SL5B project.
Gosh. Thanks ever so for that. And onward through the fog...)
(And at 10:58 pm SLT, we finally got a Linden in the mix on this particular issue:
Katt Linden commented on MISC-1231:
-----------------------------------
I am confidant that you can consider this JIRA closed.
Thanks for caring so much about Second Life.
(Gosh, then, I guess everything's better now...
(Was that too much sarcasm?)
